Seyret Video Component 0.2.6
Play video's on your website, from any source Local/Video hosters
The first and still unique video component for Joomla is of course Seyret. It was born because of our needs, but when we publish it, Joomla community really liked much and encouraged us to add new features to it. Now it is already feature rich and this developement process will go on. When we say that there are some sites based on only this extension, you can easily understand the value of Seyret.
Let's look some features now.
First of all we have a very good installation and upgrade system implemented. As all our users agree, installation and upgrade process go very easy and smooth. During upgrade process, you'll not lose any video information.
After you create categories, it is time to add some videos to your site. It generally takes only a few seconds to add a new video. Just copy video link and paste it to Seyret. That's all. Your intelligent friend will glean all information pertaining to that video and publish immediately after your submission. We have currently 30 video servers support, like youtube, google, revver, break etc, and more will come. Also you can use this component to add local videos. As a new feature in 0.2.7 wmv, mpg, mp3, swf files are also supported. You can upload your flash games and make a game gallery. Don't forget the first aim of this component is to provide a video extension to Joomla, so for a game site there may lack some features.
Another important feature of Seyret is video download option. After you enable video download option from configuration panel, your users will be able to download your videos from video servers. All of our video server plugins are download option enabled.
Browsing is AJAX based as default. But from config panel you can disable it to make your site more browsable by search bots.
Seyret is fully customizable with its theme system. Just edit template files and css file. We will provide some more themes after Seyret get more stability and feature rich.
We have implemented an advanced permission system. Using configuration panel, you can define almost every parameter to your user groups. It is very flexible that you can use it wih or without JACL installed.
